Project Description

Hirsch & Associates, Inc. provided the City of Long Beach with design services to reconfigure the existing parking lot. The adjacent Beach Pedestrian and Bike Path project reconfigured the pathways to enlarge the ramp crossing at the Pier. In doing so, it displaced 10 parking stalls in the parking lot serving Pier visitors, restaurants and condominiums. HAI performed the study which proved that restriping and relocating drives would allow for the 10 lost stalls to be added as well as an additional 8. The project relocated parking lot lighting and palms trees to accommodate the new configuration, grind and overlay of asphalt paving, new irrigation and drought tolerant landscape.
